As i said in my previous post LOGO can either make or break your brand. Today we will look into the interesting stories of 10 famous brands. These 10 brands has some interesting stories of their branding.

1. Amazon



As we all know amazon is the most rated, most prominent online retailer of the India. So, story behind amazon's logo is that it shows one arrow from "a" to "z" in it's logo hitting that store has everything from A to Z. also arrow looks like smiley showing happiness forever.


2. Apple


Which apple logo we are showing now that is not the first version of the logo. The story behind this logo is that, Apple's first logo (First Version) looks like sir isaac newton sitting under an apple tree which is designed by Ron Wayne but then it is replaced by Bitten Rainbow Apple which is designed by Rob Janoff. Main motive behind this bitten rainbow logo is that people don't confuse it with cherry and color strips were there to saw that apple could generate graphics in color.



Then later company converted this bitten rainbow apple logo into monochromatic styled logo to show more flexibility while branding their products.


3. Audi




Many people dream audi car. So, let's check the story behind it's branding. The meaning of audi is "To Listen". It was founded in 1932. In 1932, an auto union was formed by the merge of audi with Horch, DKW and Wanderer. To represent it's merged interlinked rings designed and then later it is designed as branding of Audi.


4. IBM



IBM, which is started as ITR (International Time Recording Company). In 1988, several changes are made in name and logo after that it came to be called IBM (International Business Machines Corporation). Story behind this logo is, The horizontal strips forming the letter IBM represent the "Speed and Dynamism". It is designed by Paul Rand in 1972.


5. Nestle



We all use Nestle products right ? Nestle logo was designed by Henri Nestle in 1868. Logo includes a little nest, and his family emblem. Later, as the logo evolved the mother bird's beak was removed and three fledglings were reduced to depict an average modern family.


6. Adidas




As we all know adidas is the world's best sports brand. peoples think that adidas stands for "All Day I Dream About Sports" but no it's not true. logo contains three strips mountain on name's head to inspire athletes to achieve their goals. Adidas name is taken from the founder's name, Adolf Dassler.


7. Baskin-Robins 




Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins, two brother-in-law, started their own ventures of ice-cream selling in 1948, which is later renamed as "Baskin Robbins Ice-cream". Then one local advertising company Ogilvy and Mather recommend them "31®" representing 31 flavors of ice-cream (Everyday of Month) which clearly inscribed 31 in the logo name "BN".


8. Nike



Nike's simple logo is so powerful. Nike is greek goddess of victory. Logo is derived from her wing, "Swoosh". As per the greek mythology says that swoosh is the giver of immense power and motivation to the warriors and this makes it perfect logo for apparels brand of Spotspersons



9. Sony VAIO



Sony Vaio's logo intelligently incorporates the idea of analog and digital technology. In logo V and A represent the analog waves, I and O resemble the number 0 and 1, representing the digital signal.


10. JAVA




James Gosling has invented Java, When he got the idea he had the coffee in his hand. The language was initially called Oak after an oak tree that stood outside Gosling's office. Later the project went by the name Green and was finally renamed Java, from Java Coffee.
